I woke up this morning and saw a commercial on the I.D. channel ( I like to think of it as the murder channel) about Aphrodite Jones and her criminal investigative reporting, crime writing, etc. I suppose that's probably a better paying gig than the one I have at Examiner.com, but I'm just getting started at this. Time and repetition are what makes even the great athletes great. Natural born talent will only take you so far, if left stagnant and unused.
On another note, I slept/watched a show about a con-man who roamed around making fake identities and getting fake mortgages on houses he didn't own. He wrote a book about it long before he ever got caught. I will find out who he is and post some links about it; it seemed like a pretty interesting story. The point is, he proved what you hear all the time: everyone wants to be a writer.
Supposed to meet with a detective in Sumter County to go over the Oak Grove Cemetery case next week. Hopefully I will be able to find some sort of information that can be used to create a news story that will generate some public interest in this tragic case. I may try to submit to some of the local papers. I'll post more as it comes in.
